The DJI Mavic 3 Classic: out on October 27 and costs around 1200 pounds
The DJI Mavic 3 Classic will be released on October 27th for everyone to receive before the holidays. Reportedly, the Mavic 3 Classic will cost around 1200 pounds or even less.
The DJI Mavic 3 Classic is the little brother of the DJI Mavic 3 and is stripped of some features. Thanks to leaked photos, we see that the Mavic 3 Classic only has one instead of two cameras. This was of course to be expected, but the good news is that this camera will likely host the same specs as the Mavic 3’s main camera.
Main camera DJI Mavic 3 Classic
If the specifications of the Mavic 3 Classic camera indeed match those of the Mavic 3, then we can expect a 20 megapixel MFT CMOS sensor camera. The camera has a 24mm wide-angle lens from Hasselblad and lets you take 20MP RAW photos. With an aperture of f/2.8 to f/11 and dynamic range of 12.8 stops, you have a lot of room in post-production for colour correction.
Video resolution DJI Mavic 3 Classic
It is possible to record film with a resolution of up to 5.1K and 50/60 frames per second, while recording in 4K up to 120fps. Of course, you can record cinematic images in 10-bit D-log. Since the camera is using a big MFT sensor with 20 megapixels, you will be able to do some cropping in post-production and create a zoom effect.
Increase profit
DJI has waited almost a year to sell the DJI Mavic 3 Classic, and they are probably doing so to sell as many DJI Mavic 3 and DJI Mavic 3 Cine models as possible. It is a shame that the company focuses so much on making a profit instead of serving their costumers. The DJI Mavic 3 Classic is going to target pilots with a smaller budget, but still want to make use of some pro features. It seems DJI is using the same strategy for de Mavic 3 Classic, as it used for the DJI Mini SE, which was released after de DJI Mini 2.
